Ithaca Child's cover for this issue was designed by Lindsay Morgan. Lindsay is a regular contributor to the paper who also has an artistic touch. The scene is based on a location in the lower Treeman Park Campground in Ithaca. Using pastels on canvas, Lindsay captures evening time at the campground. As a family is relaxing in their tent, the fire will soon die down, the sun is setting, and the peace of dusk is settling in. Pastels can be a tricky medium for an artist as they can smudge easily; but they do allow some finer blending of colors and richer textures.
