On our cover...
Ithaca Child is pleased to welcome Marianne Pyke Kalousdian. Living locally with her husband and two daughters, this is Marianne's first Ithaca Child cover.
Using a Lazure method of painting with natural products, Marianne creates designs from classic reproductions to romantic and whimsical fantasies. Her murals, faux finishes, glazing
and deocrative designs give a translucent living  quality to
walls, doors, furniture or whatever they adorn.
The style used for this cover was inspired by a scene she had painted for one of her children. Seeing it immediately inspired Ithaca Child to suggest this cover's image, which is based on the view from atop the field overlooking Ithaca's South Hill Elementary School.
